Actress Cote de Pablo may not be returning to NCIS, but she will appear on the CBS channel when her movie The Dovekeepers premieres right after a Tuesday night episode of her former show.

According to the Associated Press, the executive producer of the two-part movie, Roma Downey, announced to the Television Critics Association that the film would debut on March 31 after NCIS, prompting a surprised de Pablo to exclaim, “Really?”

De Pablo starred on NCIS as agent Ziva David until 2013 when she left the show after contract negotiations failed. Downey, known for Touched By An Angel wanted to use de Pablo’s fan base as an advantage in getting the movie seen, especially since they were vocal in not wanting to lose her on the show.

Variety reported that The Dovekeepers is based on Alice Hoffman’s book of the same name.

The movie tells the story of Masada, an ancient fortress in the desert that was taken siege by troops in the Roman Empire. Downey described the movie as being a love story despite being surrounded by tragedy.

USA Today reported that de Pablo also spoke about her NCIS character at the same panel, saying that it is possible she could make a return “under the right circumstances.” She also brought up the fact that her character wasn’t killed off, saying it was “very telling.”
