Anne Hathaway’s new movie is super serious, but you might not know that based on her Daily Show interview from last night. The Oscar winner just could not stop laughing about it.
Her new movie is Song One, which she also produced with her husband, Adam Shulman. It’s a drama, centering on a sister who reconnects with her younger brother who had disappointed her by dropping out of college to become a musician. He gets hit by a car, though, and goes into a coma.
When you see the movie, you probably won’t be laughing, but something about her nonchalantly saying that her brother goes into a coma made Jon Stewart laugh. And then Hathaway started and she just couldn’t stop.
For the rest of her interview, the Interstellar star couldn’t keep it together. “A journalist told me that when he saw that scene, he fell off his treadmill,” she said in between laughs.
Anyway, just watch the interview. It might kill Hathahate instantly.
Before the interview, Hathaway did score another Broadway gig. According to the New York Times, she’ll star in a one-woman show called Grounded, directed by Julie Taymor. The Public Theater production starts on April 7.
