Seth Rogen is apologizing for his tweet about American Sniper, likening it to the Nazi propaganda storyline in the film Inglorious Basterds.
Rogen got a lot of flack for the tweet, “American Sniper kind of reminds me of the movie that's showing in the third act of Inglorious Basterds,” but he’s now clarifying it had no political meaning to it.
He did go on to say that the media blew it “completely out of proportion” but felt the need to clarify the comment in a larger statement, Fox News reports.
"I truly hope this clears things up," he wrote, posting a screenshot of a long message, saying his comment had no “political implications” whatsoever and that the film simply reminded him of the scene in Quentin Tarantino’s film.
He said his comment was incorrectly believed to be against veterans, which is not true. “My grandfather was a veteran,” he wrote.
Dean Cain, Kid Rock, and others have voiced their opposition to Rogen’s tweet.
