The Columbian-born singer, and former coach of The Voice , gave birth for the second time to her second son on Sat. Jan. 29 in Spain.
Shakira and her husband, Gerad Piqué took to Instagram to announce the name of their second child.
"We are happy to announce the birth of Sasha Pique Mebrak, son of Shakira Mebarak and Gerad Piqué, born January 29 at 9:54 in Barcelona," she wrote.
The singer, also explained the meaning behind his name.
"The name Sasha is of reek and Russian descent and means 'defender of mankind' and 'warrior,' she added.
Shakira first revealed her pregnancy back in August. The 37-year-old also included that she and her husband were in good health.
"The hospital confirmed that both mother and child are in excellent health," she wrote.
The former coach has always been open about her future plans in expanding her family. Back in April, she confessed to Latina Magazine , of even wanting her own fútbol team.
"If it weren't for my music projects, I would be pregnant already. I would love to have eight or nine kids with Gerard," she told Latina magazine. "My own fútbol team."
Well, looks like everything worked out perfectly.
