Taya Kyle, the widow of the most lethal sniper in U.S. military history, Chris Kyle, is speaking candidly about missing her husband and honoring him through the success of the Clint Eastwood film American Sniper starring Bradley Cooper.

In an interview with People, Taya talked about what she misses about him after his tragic 2013 death.

“I will love him until the day I die,” she said. His legacy is surely living on, with the Oscar-nominated film becoming one of the most newsworthy topics since it theaters.

“I miss those family dinners where we would joke with the kids. I miss the way he laughed at the littlest things with me and the way the kids and I couldn’t wait for him to come home from work,” she said. “I miss how Chris changed the feeling in the room when he was in it.”

American Sniper earned six Oscar nominations – including Best Picture – and it has made over $200 million at the box office so far. Moviegoers are responding positively and Taya “can’t think of a better blessing.”

She also admitted, "When I actually think about what it would be like to have Chris next to me, with my hand in his, it hurts. But he's still with me.”

Kyle’s alleged killer, fellow veteran Eddie Routh, goes on trial starting next month.
