The Internet was buzzing last week when one of the world’s most famous golfers was photographed missing a tooth. On Tuesday, Tiger Woods had all his teeth as he smiled in Scottsdale, Arizona and explained what happened that resulted in a missing upper incisor.
USA Today reported that Woods reiterated what his agent Mark Steinberg said happened with a photographer last Monday.
"The photographer changed positions and I got hit," Woods said. "It was an accident. ... And yes there was blood everywhere.”
In the now-infamous photo, another one of Woods’ teeth appeared to be cracked. ESPN noted that he elaborated on that as well.
"Dude with a video camera on his shoulder, right in front of me, kneeling, stood up and turned and caught me square on the mouth. He chipped that one, cracked the other one.”
The golfer made a surprise visit in Italy to see his girlfriend Lindsey Vonn race in the World Cup when the shot was snapped. Vonn corroborated her man’s story via social media.
So now that the story is confirmed and we all know Woods’ dental status, he can focus on playing in the Phoenix Open for the first time since 2001.
