Tonight’s episode of NCIS: New Orleans got personal for Pride when an event he was attending with the team and his daughter Laurel and her boyfriend, Orion, became the scene of a horrific bombing. Investigation uncovers the bomb was placed at the seat where Pride was sitting and eventually, they realize the bomb’s signature matches that of an old mob family that Pride put away years earlier.

It appears that someone is trying to put the Broussard family back into power and Pride goes through hoops in order to see if the next generation is trying to go back to power. One of the family members, Sasha, is more willing to help than most, including two male members named Dante and Frank. Dante appears to be the one who most likely planted the bomb, but then a twist occurs that has to do with an informant Pride failed to put away just so he could get the Broussard family.

During the course of the investigation, Pride also was worried for his daughter Laurel, after Orion was put into the hospital because of the bombing. Along with the fact that he doesn’t tell Chris why he refuses an informant’s help, leading to a feeling of distrust, there was a lot of emotion occurring in this episode. Let’s take a look at some of the top ten moments from “Baitfish.”

10. Shaken up

Having all been at the bombing site, the team is obviously rattled by being so close to death, especially when they realize their table was the spot where the bomb was planted. As Loretta does autopsies on the victims, Sebastian is walking around trying to figure out the shrapnel evidence. He ends up yelling at the evidence he is holding due to the stress.

While getting an update from Brody and Chris at the hospital, Pride is watching Laurel when Sebastian comes with flowers for Orion. He tells Pride he was able to figure out that the bomb went off due to a motion sensor, but he doesn’t know where he came from. This ends up helping Pride when he remembers that teddy bears that Frank worked with had motion sensors.

The team is trying to figure out who could have been able to place a bomb in the facility, especially since everyone went through security. 6. Evidence

After finding out how the bomb was made, Pride recognizes it as coming from a crime family known as the Broussard Syndicate. Since most of the people involved are either in prison or dead, he figures the next generation took over. He finds out from an ex-con that someone named Dante is trying to put the Syndicate back into formation.

5. No secrets

When Chris isn’t given permission to spring his informant from prison, he feels slighted because Pride won’t talk to him. Pride takes him for a drive to a house where he reveals that he looked away when his own informant got into trouble just so he could take down the Broussard family. But then, he tried to break into a family’s house and after the father fired on him, he turned around and shot into the window, killing a little girl. Pride learned the lesson about looking the other way and doesn’t want it happening again.

2. Good enough

Pride goes to check on Laurel, who is keeping vigil in the hospital where her boyfriend is. Her father admits that the bomb was for her and apologizes for what happened. She asks her dad if he is trying to ensure the city is safe and when he affirms her question, she takes his hand and says “that’s good enough for me.”

[new page= Figuring it out]

1. Figuring it out

As Pride is feeling good about the fact that Laurel’s boyfriend woke up, he gets word from Loretta that the burned body that they thought belonged to Paul Jenks, his informant, did not belong to him and was most likely a transient. Pride is taken aback and deduces this must mean he was the one who planted the bomb in the park.
