Parks and Recreation’s struggles with drawing a wide audience are well known, but the show’s final season is getting off to a surprisingly strong start. Sure, the ratings weren’t jaw-dropping, but it was certainly better than previous seasons.

The Amy Poehler-starring show is now airing on Tuesdays in one-hour blocks, as NBC burns off the seventh and final season. According to Entertainment Weekly, Parks averaged 3.5 million viewers and a 1.5 rating in the key 18-49 demographic. The rating was a big 15 percent jump over last season’s regular fall debut. It is also an amazing 50 percent jump from the season six finale.

While Parks had a good night, other Tuesday comedies struggled, as they have all season. Audiences left when Marry Me began, as the show only drew a 0.7 rating. About A Boy drew a 0.9.

The 9 p.m. Fox sitcoms did a bit better, with New Girl and The Mindy Project drawing 1.4 and 1.1 ratings in the demo, respectively.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that ABC’s Agent Carter was down significantly from its premiere last week, drawing a 1.5 rating at 9 p.m. It did draw 5.1 million viewers.

Lastly, CBS’ NCIS block dominated the night as usual. NCIS had a 2.8 rating, while NCIS: New Orleans and a 2.2.
