Tesla CEO Elon Musk included an “insane button” in the company’s latest Model S P85D electric car and some were skeptical. He said that by pressing the button, the car would jump from zero to 60 mph in just over three seconds.
To figure out if this was just Musk trying to make his car sound cooler, DragTimes actually tested it out. The site enlisted regular people to sit in the car with them as they tried it out and the video of them being completely shocked by the sudden speed has gone vireal.
The video is up to 1 million views, while an NSFW version is up to 1.5 million.
The driver, Brooks, showed Mashable where the button is. It’s actually seen on the dashboard touch screen. When you press it, the full horsepower of the car’s two motors are put in use when you put your foot on the gas.
“It's very safe, the car has all-wheel drive and is very stable the entire time. We've even done 0-60 in 3.3 seconds in the rain with no tire spin at all,” Brooks told Mashable.
Musk himself saw the video and even tweeted a link to it, notes The Huffington Post.
