Wrestling fans were so angry with the result of last night’s WWE Royal Rumble in Philadelphia that they had to take their frustrations out on Twitter. They managed to get #CancelWWENetwork trending on Twitter.
Fans really wanted to see Daniel Bryan make a triumphant return to wrestling after he suffered a neck injury, but they were shocked to see him get knocked out by Bray Wyatt in just a few minutes. Wyatt knocked Bryan to the floor and he was done.
While fans watching at home vented their anger on Twitter, the fans in the stand were clearly annoyed. According to USA Today’s For The Win, they booed every wrestler who came into the ring, even winner Roman Reigns.
Dolph Ziggler did earn some applause as the last entrant, but Kane and The Big Show knocked him out, so there were even more boos.
Fans reacted viciously, calling for people to cancel the online WWE Network. They got #CancelWWENetwork trending nationwide. According to Wrestling Inc, the WWE Network’s cancellation page even crashed because so many people rushed to end their subscription.
Roman Reign will next challenge Brock Lesnar for the WrestleMania title, but Vince McMahon better choose his winner wisely.
McMahon’s WWE Network has struggled to find success since day one. Back in May 2014, it was reported that he was losing $350 million a day because of a lack of subscribers.
