Andi Dorfman finally revealed the details about her recent split from her former fiancé Josh Murray.

Dorfman, who starred on The Bachelorette season 10, sat down for an interview with the show’s host Chris Harrison during a special Bachelor Tells All to discuss the reasoning behind her recent break-up from Josh Murray. On Sunday night, the former Assistant District Attorney revealed that their decision to end their engagement wasn’t easy.

“There was nothing official before that, obviously to make the decision to end the engagement doesn’t just happen overnight,” she said according to Us Weekly. “We had struggled for a while - we definitely did.”

On January 5th, the pair made their final appearance as a couple during the season premiere of The Bachelor season 19, an event which Dorfman called “eye-opening.” She said, “We went to the premiere and I think it was hearing people ask about wedding dates.” She continued to explain, “We actually had to ask ourselves, ‘Why haven’t we been planning our wedding?’”

Only three days after their red carpet appearance they released a statement announcing that they were ending their 5-month engagement. They got engaged during The Bachelorette season finale in July 2014.

Dorfman explained to Harrison that the decision to end the engagement was mutual and blamed the split on their similar personalities.

"We were both very aware of the fact that we just didn't better each other," she explained according to E! News.

"I didn't feel supported and empowered and I don't think I gave him the support and empowerment that he needed. When you have two very passionate, very strong personalities in one house and nobody can back down and nobody is the calming force for one another, it's a lot of tension in one house," she explained.

Even though their relationship did not work out, Dorfman did have some positive words to say about her former fiancé. She said, “I’ll always love him, like I’ve never loved anybody like that in my life." She even admitted that Murray, a former baseball-pro, was her “first true love, without a doubt.”

Dorfman, who was first featured on The Bachelor season 18 with Juan Pablo, admitted that she is “heartbroken” over the split and called their broken engagement the “biggest failure of my life so far.” But even though Dorfman didn’t get a fairy tale ending, she said she is “truly grateful.”

"My life changed forever and I just feel grateful to be a part of everything,” she said.
