The late Steve Irwin’s daughter 16-year-old daughter Bindi Irwin is opening up about her father’s thoughts about her first starting to date.
She joked that he was just like any other father, telling her she’s banned from dating until she’s 40 years old.
Irwin told People, "Dad said I can't date until I'm 40. So maybe I'll just focus on my studies. It's a long way off."
She also reached out to girls her age to tell them, "It's so easy for 16-year-olds, including myself, to say, 'I just wish I were an adult.' But we can't wish our lives away. When we're adults, we'll say, 'I wish I were 16 again.'”
Bindi’s mother and the Crocodile Hunter’s widow, Terri Irwin, gushed about being “proud” of her daughter’s “life choices.”
She also laughed about the prospect of her teen dating, saying, "Teenage boys are scarier than crocodiles.”
Bindi was just 8 when her father died in 2006. She thinks it’s “very important” to carry on his legacy.
