Boston may still be celebrating the New England Patriots’ victory in Super Bowl XLIX, but the family of sports fans in The McCarthys won’t be. The CBS sitcom has just been pulled from the network’s schedule.
The show was supposed to air another episode this week, but The Futon Critic noticed that the episode had been pulled. In its place, CBS will air another The Big Bang Theory repeat.
The last produced episode of The McCarthys was set to air on Feb. 12, but that isn’t going to happen either.
The Big Bang rerun move is a familiar decision from CBS. As Deadline notes, the network did the same thing during the weeks between The Millers’ final show and the premiere of Mike & Molly.
Like Millers, McCarthys had to be cancelled because its low ratings were hurting the program that aired after it. McCarthys lead into Elementary, which is a CBS-owned series.
Following the Two and a Half Men finale on Feb. 19, here’s what CBS’ Thursday schedule, The Odd Couple will be introduced to the line-up.
