With Jon Stewart announcing his retirement from The Daily Show on Tuesday, people started speculating who exactly could take Jon's chair once he finally waved goodbye to the show he popularized. While names continue to be thrown around, it turns out Hot Tub Time Machine 2 may already have guessed Jon's replacement.

Uproxx unveiled a new clip from the upcoming comedy sequel, which finds the film's original characters Lou (Rob Corddry), Jacob (Clark Duke) and Nick (Craig Robinson) — but not Adam (John Cusack) — watching a futuristic television from 2025 where The Daily Show with Jessica Williams appears. On the show, Jennifer Lawrence is announced as the show's main guest, there to promote her Meryl Streep biopic Streepin' It Real, which, of course, will have to win the actress her next Oscar.

Oh yeah, and Nick Patrick Harris is now the President of the United States. It's not too hard to believe, one would suppose. If the man can dominate any award show, it shouldn't be too shocking that he can charm his way to the White House. It's hard to believe either Republicans or Democrats against Doogie Howser for Head of State.

While this is a brief clip, it's an oddly timely one, and one that — for all we know — could end up being eerily true. It's likely, of course, MGM saw to capitalize on the recent announcement, and were lucky enough to have the clip in their forthcoming feature. There's been no word from Comedy Central as to who they think should replace Stewart whenever Jon says goodbye. Williams has been on the show since 2012, when she became the youngest Daily Show correspondent ever.

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 comes to theaters on February 20. Check out the clip below:
