Last Week: Jamal hits a bumpy road in his relationship, Cookie becomes the manager for Elle Dallas, Vernon covers up Lucious' tracks and Jamal is a father?
Lucious gets ready so an Investor Showcase. Vernon gives him information about Olivia and Cookie scolds Lucious for making Jamal marry her. Lucious is starting to feel a little ill and the stress of his business is getting to him.
Cookie continues yelling at him when he collapses. He's put into an ambulance. Anika and cookie argue over who rides with him, but Lucious picks Anika and Cookie is hurt.
Michael decides to move out, feeling unwanted, especially with the news of his daughter. He leaves.
Rhonda and Andre meets with Mr. Schiller. They don't tell him the truth about Lucious in fear of what it might do to the IPO investment.
Hakeem is having dinner with Camilla.. He gives her a bracelet with his name on it, but she rejects it because he won't take her out in public. She gets ready to leave and he tells her that she can come to his next event but they have to keep things secret for now.
Anika brings in another doctor who tells Lucious that Dr. Mason poisoned Lucious. Cookie tries to see him but she isn't allowed in.
Andre leads a meeting with Lucious over an intercom. They talk about the music and upcoming showcase.
Jamal and Hakeem are practicing but their beef interrupts things and Cookie tries to put them in their place. Lucious shows up and tells them to take a break. He and Cookie talk for a moment and she leaves.
Becky is trying to use the elevator but it's stuck on 17. She asks Malcolm for some help, flirting a little, and he manages to get it moving with his key. When the doors open, they find Jamal's alleged daughter who claims to have lost her mom.
Malcolm tells cookie that Olivia left her daughter there and he leaves her with Becky. Jamal leaves.
Cookie is waiting for Elle who was late. She shows up and rehearses her song. Cookie is proud of how she sounds and Malcolm shows up for a listen.
Becky is with Jamal's daughter when he shows up to speak to Lucious. Lucious calls him out for still not claiming to accept the fact that he's gay. Lucious offers to help Jamal look after the girl and tells him that he's not on his own. Jamal's views of him may be starting to change.
The showcase is here and Hakeem and Jamal are performing. Elle shows up and Anika is surprised by her cleaned up appearance.
Elle tells Cookie that she's nervous but Cookie tells her she'll do great. She leaves to check on Jamal and Hakeem and Anika shows up and spike's Elle's tea with something and Malcolm may have seen.
Lucious speaks to Camilla after believing her fake investor cover. Malcolm calls Lucious over to speak in private.
Cookie finds Elle and believes she took some drugs. She leaves to tell Lucious and he tells Hakeem and Jamal to go on first. They make up and take the stage.
While they're performing, Lucious finds he can't speak. Since he can't do his speech, he asks Cookie to go out instead.
Cookie goes out and is nervous at first but ditches the prompt and surprisingly gets the audience on her side. Lucious is happy with the outcome and murmurs under his breath "I love you, Cookie" and Anika hears him.
Lucious sends Anika off to Chicago to handle some Empire business. Cookie asks him what's going on with him.
Lucious brings the whole family together and everyone starts to embrace Jamal's daughter. Malcolm and Lucious are speaking about something when they show up and Cookie continues to flirt with him.
Lucious tells everyone that he has ALS. Andre gets upset about the IPO and Hakeem and him get into a scuffle for worrying about the wrong thing. Andre leaves after yelling at Rhonda and she apologizes to Lucious and leaves too. We see him later in the shower on the floor with his clothes still on.
Lucious asks to be alone with Cookie for a moment. They talk about her speech and the company. She starts to cry and he asks her to dance. They have a passionate kiss and eventually go into the bedroom. Anika comes home unexpectedly and finds them, but then she walks away.
