We still have a year to go until Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them hits theaters, but fans of J.K. Rowling will be able to see some of the author’s work on screen very soon.

The BBC has just released the trailer for The Casual Vacancy, based on the novel of the same name by Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling. The trailer is pretty light on plot but gets across the tone of the upcoming adaptation, which shows Rowling trying something completely different than we might expect from her and for more of an adult audience.

The Casual Vacancy will air in three hour-long installments beginning on February 15th according to Slashfilm. It stars Rory Kinnear, Simon McBurney and even Michael Gambon, who played Dumbledore in the Harry Potter films. No information has been given about a possible U.S. airing of the series.

The Casual Vacancy is set in an English village where a seat opens up on the parish council after an unexpected death. The novel deals with issues of class struggle, politics, and the dark secrets of a seemingly idyllic small town.

The novel was released in 2013 to mixed reviews. Some readers found the novel to be a dark and complex outing for Rowling, but a few publications like The New York Times and the Los Angeles Times panned the book, with the latter saying that it "fails to conjure Harry Potter's magic."

Still, the novel was one of the best selling books of 2012, selling over 120,000 copies within three days, according to The Daily Telegraph, and so the miniseries could be a huge succes for the BBC.

The Casual Vacancy will air on the BBC on February 15th.
