Convicted sex offender and former British pop star, Gary Glitter, 70, has been sentenced to jail for 16 years for the six counts of sexual misconduct he has been charged with committing over 30 years ago.
Glitter, real name Paul Gadd, was handed the 16-year sentence on Friday after being convicted earlier this month.
The sentencing took place in London’s Southwark Crown Court for counts of attempted rape and having sex with a girl under the age of 13 and four counts of indecent assault against girls, CNN reports.
Glitter has been convicted of abusing three young girls from 1975 to 1980, but there could be more victims.
During the Jimmy Savile investigation, Glitter was arrested in 2012.
He’s had a past of sex offenses on young girls, as he spent three years in jail in Vietnam on similar charges before getting deported to England and four months in jail in 1999 for being in possession of child pornography.
