Things are reportedly heating up in the E! offices.
Apparently there is a growing amount of tension between longtime employee, Giuliana Rancic, and new-hire Maria Menounos. RadarOnline reported that Giuliana feels threatened in her position at E! and “for good reason!”
“They avoid each other at all costs and when they do have interactions, it is so awkward because Giuliana is constantly trying to prove herself by one-upping Maria.”
Some believe that Menounos was brought onto E! as a replacement for Giuliana, who was not supposed to be renewing her contract at the end of her current term. She and husband, Bill Rancic, have been vocal for years about their desire to raise a family in Chicago where they own a restaurant.
The reports of Maria replacing Giuliana are somewhat believable after Giuliana did not host the SAG Awards Red Carpet, one of her duties for E!. Us Weekly shared a story about the negative backlash from viewers once they realized Rancic wouldn’t be hosting the event. One viewer even tweeted that watching Maria interview celebrities “physically hurts.”
It’s a known fact that a career in the industry may not last forever. However, why E! would ever want to get rid of Giuliana Rancic is crazy considering she’s been integral in their success as a network.
