There’s a new blonde bombshell on the cover of Sports Illustrated’s Swimsuit Issue. After two straight years of featuring Kate Upton, the magazine has picked Hannah Davis for the 2015 issue.
The cover photo features Davis barely wearing a bikini in a photo taken by Ben Watts, taken at Blackberry Farm, Tennessee. It’s her third appearance in an SI Swimsuit issue.
SI tried to keep it a surprise for Davis as long as possible, not revealing the news to her until Tuesday. She was told she was sitting down for an SI.com interview when SI Assistant Managing Editor MJ Day broke the news.
It was formally unveiled to the public on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night, with Davis making an appearance.
“I told my mom there was no way I'd get the cover,” Davis said on Tuesday. "I told her 'They do beaches for covers and I'm on a farm. There's no way. It's not possible.'"
The rest of the issue will be posted online on Monday and the print edition is out on Tuesday. SI is also hosting events in New York City on Monday and Tuesday and in Nashville on Feb. 11 and 12.
Davis is famous for another reason - she’s the girlfriend of New York Yankees legend Derek Jeter.
