Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson and her mother, June ‘Mama’ Shannon made an appearance on The Doctors this week, where Shannon was taken to task on her daughter’s weight.
The family’s unhealthy lifestyle was depicted on TLC’s Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, which was canceled after four seasons last year due to Shannon reportedly rekindling a relationship with one of her daughters’ sexual abusers.
"I love a lot of stuff deep-fried. I love deep-fried Oreos," 9-year-old Alana admitted on The Doctors in an episode airing Wednesday, People reports.
This caused Dr. Travis Stork to remind Mama June, "It all starts with you. That's on you."
The doctors inform June her daughter is considered “obese” for her age and they stage an intervention to change her diet and lifestyle. They gave the family healthy alternatives to their favorite foods and even taught them some exercises to do.
After all, Alana is 125 pounds and says her favorite exercise is doing “belly flops.”
