Actor Jack Falahee chooses not to reveal his sexuality, despite it being the question on many people’s minds since Falahee plays the gay law student Connor Walsh on How to Get Away with Murder who uses sex to get what he wants.
In a cover story interview for Outmagazine, Falahee explains his decision to keep his sexuality a mystery as if he were a Gender Studies professor.
“I don’t think answering who I’m sleeping with accomplishes anything other than quenching the thirst of curiosity,” said Falahee. “We still live in this hetero-normative patriarchal society that is intent on placing everything within those binaries.”
The 25-year-old actor made his sexuality so hard to solve that it resembled the intricate plotlines of How to Get Away with Murder.
“I really hope that—if not in my lifetime, my children’slifetime—this won’t be a question, that we won’t need this,” said Falahee.
Watching television dramas is about escapism and Falahee understands how fans confuse him and his character Connor.
“I am not Connor, and Connor is not me,” he says. “I un- derstand that people want to feel some sort of connection with me, but I would encourage them to feel that through the work.”
