Jane The Virgin began with a flashback to Jane as a young girl when she looses her grandmother’s favorite earrings. When she confesses what happened, Alba tells her that she could never do anything that would make her not forgive Jane.
In the present, Jane is talking to Rafael about forgiving Luisa for all she has done since Rafael has apparently been invited to a therapy session. Jane discovers that Luisa wants her there, too, and she agrees since she will be family to the baby. She gets Rafael to go after saying she would attend the session without him.
Meanwhile, Petra and her mother are talking when Lachlan is brought up. There is a knock at the door and Petra sees it is Rafael, who tells her she has an appointment and needs to be booking events since she is the coordinator. After threatening to withhold her paychecks, she agrees to go.
Jane brings food to her co-workers and has to scrape onions off of one of their orders. Dina comes in and offers to let Jane write an episode of The Passions of Santos. She accepts the offer.
Rogelio is running lines with Nicholas when Jane comes in and asks him if he is the one who had the writers give her a script. He is honestly surprised at this knews and she is thrilled because it means they saw her talent. He is excited because they can be a father/daughter super star pair like Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight, without the enstrangement.
Michael confronts Nadine about getting him suspended and he tells her he had a lead due to Rafael meeting with the subcontractor. She isn’t interested in his theory and accuses him of making things personal and brings up Jane in the hospital. Michael realizes she’s jealous and she ignores him, telling him that Emilio Solano is the one who is Sin Rostro.
Rose is brushing her hair when Emilio surprises her and tells her they are leaving for a long trip. His assistant, Scott, has made all of the arrangements.
Rojelio and Xiomara are in bed talking about Jane, but then the discussion turns personal when they both begin to feel urges for each other. He asks if she wants to have sex, just to test her, as he claims.
Jane goes into work feeling excited to be an official writer. That is, until Nicholas hands her the story document for the latest episode. In the last paragraph, she reads that Santos is murdered by his own son. She finds out that due to Rojelio’s successive demands and rude behavior, the network is tired of dealing with them and decided to kill him off. She asks if Rojelio knows about this and we hear him scream in agony.
Rafael is talking to Rose, who is panicking about her husband. She is worried about going away with him if he is the killer. He tells her that he has gone through his father’s information and there is no connection to him and the murders. When she suggests going to the police, Rafael tells her they can’t do that otherwise his business will be ruined.
Jane goes to see her father, who is on the phone and still not happy. She suggests he can change the writer’s minds if he goes to them with a humble attitude. They go to the writer’s room with mini muffins for Dina, but Rogelio doesn’t use the right words to make his case, so Jane tries to help him. However, Dina refuses not to kill off the character. Jane follows her father outside and tells him she is not going to be the one to write the script.
Rafael introduces Petra to Mr. Dvorajeck, who wants to book a wedding at the hotel. But when he turns around, Petra realizes it is Milos. Rafael leaves, unaware of how they know each other, as Milos tells Petra to sit down. He explains that the acid attack on her mother was intended for her and not Petra because she apparently kept them apart. Milos tells her he was sent to rehabilitation, otherwise known as anger management, and he came to apologize.
Petra is crying in a stairwell when Jane finds her. Being the compassionate woman she is, Jane sits down to ask what is going on and Petra tells her the whole story. Pentra notices Jane has blood on her, but it’s fake from work.
Jane tells Rafael about Petra, but he doesn’t believe her because of all that happened as they are on their way to the therapy session. Rafael tells Jane what he knows, and thinks, Luisa will say at the therapy session and they arrive, where Luisa says what she thinks will get her out of there. Rafael tells her he wanted to prevent her from killing herself like their mother did and that he has had so much on his mind. When asked by the counselor, he brings up the dead bellboy with the corkscrew in his neck since his father could be Sin Rostro, which gets Luisa thinking.
Rojelio is at the house watching his show as Alba takes care of him. Xiomara comes home as he laments on getting too old to be handsome. She assures him he is very sexy and urges him to move forward and look ahead at a second career in movies. Plus, in order to help make him feel better, she mentions having a hard time not pouncing on him.
Jane goes into the bathroom and sees Luisa there. Luisa asks her for a favor, which is to give Rose a letter of apology.
In the hotel, Petra is calling Lachlan on his phone when she sees a coin fall at her feet. As she looks down, Milos grabs her.
Rafael and Jane arrive at the hotel and Jane is about to get ready for work when her phone rings from her purse. He goes to get it from her purse, but finds Luisa’s letter. She was going to give it to him, but he is not happy and feels Luisa may be doing something for selfish reasons. He understands Jane is all about forgiving, but he has been hurt too many times.
Once she goes to work, Jane sees her dad in the hotel. He tells her he is doing better and asks her to write the script and to give him a great death scene. She gets a phone call from Luisa and tells her that she gave the letter to Rafael. Luisa calls Rafael, but he lets it go to voicemail when he hears someone at the door. Luisa’s message asks him to read the letter as Rafael talks to Rose. They are still worried about everything that is going on and then Rafael is horrified to see the subcontractor talking to his father.
Michael, meanwhile, is at the plastic surgery office where he has an appointment with the plastic surgeon he believes has been working in the tunnels. The man meets with him and then is called away. Michael takes the time to look at his computer for information and finds a list that he prints out, just as the doctor comes back. He was able to get his brother, Billy, to help him by pretending to be another patient. The information Michael found were billing records.
Jane is trying to work on the death scene and she imagines Rojelio acting out the scene and giving her a hard time about using the correct words, so she writes that his actress partner slaps him. Alba comes in to see how she is doing and encourages her as Jane notices her earrings. She is wearing earrings Jane bought to replace the ones she lost and this inspires her to write the ending she wants to give Rojelio.
Michael goes to Nadine to tell her what he discovered and that Emilio is the one they are looking at, not Rafael. She says they need to arrest him.
Jane and her father are talking about the scene and they wonder who will play the son. It turns out to be Nicholas and we find out the reason Rojelio got such a bad reputation was because Nicholas was out to sabotage him. Nicholas tells Rojelio that he was the one who always told him to “keep my eye on the prize.” Jane is disgusted with him and Rojelio asks for a moment to prepare for his scene.
Jane calls Rafael and laments on being too trusting, which he said he actually liked about her. She tells him the reason she is so forgiving of Luisa is because despite her mistakes, it led her to Rafael and their baby. She tells him to read the letter.
As Rojelio and Nicholas film the scene, we also see Petra being held at knifepoint while Magda looks on in horror. The lines spoken by Milos and Nicholas are heard back and forth as Milos slices Petra’s throat and Nicholas stabs Rojelio in the scene.
Magda is so shocked she gets up and walks, just as Petra looks up. It turns out, Milos had “kidnapped” her so he could show her that her mom can walk and the blood was actually fake. Back at the studio, Rojelio says his final lines, which are the same words Alba spoke to Jane when she was a girl and had lost her earrings. After thanking the crew, Rojelio tells Jane he feels warm inside, after she tells him he was great and calls him dad.
Rafael reads the letter Luisa wrote and she tells him that a corkscrew she used in her dad’s apartment the night the bellboy died may have been the one used and she is worried for her safety. Meanwhile, Emilio tells Rose he knows she has been acting strange and that he decided to make their trip happen that night.
Jane comes home to the apartment happy about her dad’s role and then notices Rafael is upset. He tells her what he thinks about his father. As this is going on, Rose is seducing Emilio when she has him stand in a concrete box. Then, she causes a machine to move that splashes him with concrete. After covering him with cement, she calls Rafael and tells him in a message she thinks his father has fled the country. Text appears on the screen with the name ‘Rose’ followed by ‘Sin Rostro.’ Was Sin Rostro who you thought it was?
