When it looked like Kanye West was going to have another MTV Video Music Awards moment to interrupt Beck at the Grammys on Sunday nigh, Jay Z and Beyonce were mortified.
When Beck was announced as the winner for Album of the Year, West stormed the stage as if he was going to make a fool of himself and declare why he thinks Beyonce should’ve won.
As this was happening, Jay Z and Beyonce had the same reactions everyone at home did – sheer shock and embarrassment for him, then relief that he appeared to be joking. They both let out big laughs before Beyonce mouthed “No, Kanye, no!”
As it turned out, he wasn’t joking at all he just changed his mind once he got on stage.
“I just know that the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us," West said on the after show. "Beck needs to respect artistry and he should've given his award to Beyonce."
Of course, Beyonce went home a three-time winner anyway.
