Sometimes the worst thing you can do is open your mouth. Former San Francisco 49ers Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice is learning this the hard way.

In an interview with Jim Rome on January 22nd, after the New England Patriots were caught with deflated footballs after the AFC Championships game, Rice said that there should be an asterisk next to their name should they win the Super Bowl.

"I'm going to be point blank, I feel like it's cheating," Rice said. "Because you have an edge up on your opponent and its unfortunate that it happened.... I've played in cold weather, I know how hard the football is and you can grip the leather just a little bit better [if it's deflated]."

Prior to that statement, however, Rice admitted to bending the rules himself, according to ESPN. In a video segment that aired on January 17th, Rice admitted to putting a little stick-em on his receiver gloves.

"I know this might be a little illegal, guys, I just put a little spray, a little stickum on them, to make sure that texture is a little sticky," Rice said.

The video has just been brought to the attention of the public eye and makes Rice look really terrible.
