John Mayer made light of the situation with his ex, Taylor Swift, during his guest hosting appearance on The Late Late Show on Friday.

He confirmed he would be attending the Grammys on Sunday in his monologue, mentioning the “Style” singer.

“You can see me at the Grammys doing what I do best, being avoided by Taylor Swift. That won't make the Internet at all,” he laughed, Us Weekly.

Indeed, Swift has reason to avoid the “Heartbreak Warfare” singer, 37, who is dating her “straight-up enemy” Katy Perry again.

Swift and Mayer briefly dated in 2009 and as a result, Swift wrote the song “Dear John” about him. It includes lyrics such as, “Dear John, I see it all now it was wrong, don’t you think nineteen’s to young to be played with.”

He wrote a song in response called “Paper Doll,” singing, "You're like 22 girls in one. And none of them know what they're running from.”

Mayer then Rolling Stone in 2012 he thought “Dear John” was “cheap songwriting” and “humiliating.”
