Glu, the makers of the popular Kim Kardashian: Hollywood mobile game, are teaming up with another superstar, one who hangs out with sharks. Yes, Katy Perry is getting her own game.
The studio said that the game should be available on iOS and Android later this year. It will feature Perry’s voice, likeness and personality.
“Katy is arguably the most recognized musician in America following her Super Bowl XLIX Halftime performance this past Sunday. She is a cultural icon and we expect to translate key elements of her success into an innovative, highly entertaining mobile experience,” Glu CEO Niccolo de Masi said in a statement.
One of the bigger reasons for the partnership is Perry’s huge fanbase, which Glu hopes will play the game. Perry has a remarkable 64.7 million Twitter followers
Perry, who is known for hits like “California Gurls,” “Firework,” “Teenage Dream” and “I Kissed A Girl,” just performed during the Super Bowl XLIX halftime show, which was the most-watched television show in U.S. history. According to Entertainment Weekly, the final numbers show that 118 million people watched it.
Now, if only Glu can figure out how to get all those people to play this. They may also need help from the shark community.
