Katy Perry’s most recent album titled Prism is all around an upbeat album that has some different lyrics than we are used to hearing from Perry, but she makes it easy to love them and her new music. The tracks on this album are much different from her previous songs, but they’re also pretty different from the other tracks on Prism. One track in particular is “Birthday”; it’s upbeat and happy, while “Dark Horse” is dark and mystical yet very lyrical.
There’s a deluxe version of the album, and a regular version of the album, the deluxe version includes an additional three songs titled “Spiritual”, “It Takes Two”, and “Choose Your Battles”. While her regular version of the album has thirteen songs, every song was written by Perry herself with collaboration from well-known writers, and music figures such as John Mayer, Sia, and Emeli Sande.
Prism is a different album than the past ones, but it’s entertaining yet every song is so diverse from the others that it’s hard to figure out what the album is completely about. Usually when you listen to an album there’s a story behind every song that in some way tries to connect to the other songs on that same album. With this album, there is one song that connect with the others in ways, but other than that it seems like the songs are just thrown together. Don’t get me wrong, I love the songs on Prism and I adore Katy Perry as an artist, but the tracks just don’t seem to relate to each other to me for some reason.
Prism is an album that is Katy Perry’s best one yet! The catchy songs and melodies make it easy to dance and sing along to them.
