Kelly Clarkson gets candid about her marriage, new music, and saying “I love you.”

Clarkson, who is a new mom, revealed in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning With Charles Osgood she thought she would never “fall in love.” The first American Idol winner admitted, "I never thought honestly I would get married or fall in 'love', like they say in the movies. You know, I never thought that would happen. And, not so because I didn't think it was true." She added, “"I just didn't know if it was possible.”

But even though the singer is famous for her break-up anthems such as “Since You Been Gone” and “Miss Independent,” Clarkson waited for that special person to say those powerful words “I love you” to. "He was the first guy I …said it [to] – and wanted to say it," she said. "I didn't feel like I had to. Because, like, 'Oh, that's what you have to do when you say it.'"

Clarkson and Blackstock began dating in the beginning of 2012 and got engaged that December. The duo exchanged vows in October 2013 and welcomed their first child together, a daughter named River Rose in June 2014.

In the interview, Clarkson also opened up about her music career and what’s to come in the future regarding her upcoming album, Piece by Piece. She has been releasing new tracks off the album recently including, “Heartbeat song,” “Let Your Tears Fall” and “Take You High.” The album is set to be released on March 3rd, 2015.

The full interview will air on CBS, March 1st at 9 a.m.
