Kevin Garnett will return to the Minnesota Timberwolves, the team he started his long career with. He agreed to waive a no-trade clause so the Brooklyn Nets can send him back to Minneapolis.

In return, the Wolves will send starting forward Thaddeus Young, reports The Star Tribune.

Garnett, 38, will be reunited with Flip Saunders, who coached him in Minnesota during his first 10 years in the NBA. Saunders is back to coaching the team and is also president of basketball operations.

Garnett enterted the league with the Wolves in 1995 and played there until the team traded him to the Boston Celtics before the ‘07-‘08 season. That year, the Celtics won the NBA Finals and he stayed with the C’s through 2013.

Since he joined the Nets for the ‘13-‘14 season, he has shown his age though. According to USA Today, he has only averaged 6.8 points and 6.8 rebounds a game.

Young is 26 and could have a bright future. However, he will likely be a free agent at the end of the season and the Wolves are only 11-42 this season. He could help out the Nets, who are 21-31 and currently a game behind the Miami Heat for the eighth slot in the Easter Conference.
