Lady Gaga must have caught the acting bug at the Oscars on Sunday, since the singer has signed on to star in the fifth season of FX’s anthology series American Horror Story.
Gaga confirmed the news herself on Twitter, posting a 22-second teaser for the new season. It is tilted American Horror Story: Hotel, so Gaga urged her Little Monsters to “make your reservation now.”
While it’s not known what role she will play, sources for TVLine said that it’s a big one, so this is more than just a cameo role.
It will be Gaga’s biggest acting gig to date. She had a supporting part in Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills and had a really small role in a The Sopranos Season Three episode.
AHS: Hotel could likely be the first edition of Ryan Murphy’s series not to feature Jessica Lange. FX CEO John Landgraf also told reporters at the Television Critics Association press tour that the season would be “very different.” He also noted that Murphy will be integrating elements of Season 4, Freak Show, into the new season.
AHS: Hotel will debut in October.
Gaga was at the Oscars on Sunday to perform a Sound of Music tribute.
