Lena Dunham made it well known that she wants to star on ABC’s Scandal and now she’s getting her wish, for real. She doesn’t have to do Saturday Night Live again to fulfill her dreams.
The news was first reported by Entertainment Weekly, which confirmed that her episode will air in March. It’s not known what role she will play, but the Girls writer/creator/star could have a connection to Olivia Pope & Associates.
E! News also confirmed that Dunham will make an appearance on the show.
Executive producer Shonda Rhimes must have heard Dunham's interview with Grantland, where Dunham announced that her dream is to be a guest on Scandal.
“Basically, my life's great passion is the idea of being a guest star on Scandal,” she said. “I want to be like, a senator who did something wrong." And while she did say she might be too young to play a senator, she said, "playing a really evil character, it would be really fun.”
Of course, when Dunham was on SNL last year, she starred in a hilarious Scandal parody sketch.
Dunham’s Girls airs on HBO on Sundays, while Scandal is on ABC Thursday nights.
