Margot Robbie has revealed a tidbit from her audition with Leonardo DiCaprio for The Wolf of Wall Street, admitting she took a leap of faith and it worked out.

She revealed she actually slapped DiCaprio during the audition, which wasn’t in the script, admitting she thought to herself she was going to “get arrested” and “never going to work again.”

Robbie, 24, told Harper’s Bazaar UK’s April issue she told herself in that moment, “You have literally 30 seconds left in this room and if you don't do something impressive nothing will ever come of it. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance, just take it.”

She continued of the scene he was “really scary” and believable. “I can barely keep up. And he ends it saying, 'You should be happy to have a husband like me. Now get over here and kiss me,’” she said.

“So I walk up really close to his face and then I'm like, 'Maybe I should kiss him. When else am I ever going to get a chance to kiss Leo DiCaprio, ever?' But another part of my brain clicks and I just go, Whack! I hit him in the face,” she said. “And then I scream, 'F**k you!' And that's not in the script at all. The room just went dead silent and I froze."

As we know now, it worked out in her favor. Props to Robbie for taking the option not to kiss DiCaprio.

The Wolf of Wall Street was her breakout role and she can be seen starting this weekend in Focus with Will Smith.
