Joan Rivers’ September passing shocked millions of fans. Rivers was known for her boisterous comedy routines, immaculate sense of fashion, and her close-knit relationship with daughter, Melissa, and grandson, Cooper.

The process of grieving could not have been an easy one for Melissa, who works as executive producer on Fashion Police - the show that highlighted the last years of her Mother’s professional career. As an aid to help the process, Melissa has written a memoir about her mother, CBS News reports.

The Book of Joan: Tales of Mirth, Mischief, and Manipulation, will share the funny thoughts and memories Melissa has of the woman who raised her. Melissa issued a statement regarding the book, “"In our family we always believed that laughter was the best medicine," Melissa says as part of the announcement. "I wanted to write a book that would make my mother laugh. I hope it makes you laugh, too.”

Considering Joan Rivers was easily one of the funniest people of our time, we’re sure this book will bring countless laughs to it’s readers.

Melissa Rivers’ memoir will be released on May 5, according to People.

Forever missing you, Joan!
