When Mo’Nique talked about being told by Lee Daniels that she was “blackballed” by Hollywood for not playing the game right, she apparently opened a can of worms.

She said it happened after she won the Oscar for Precious five years ago. She hasn’t been in any major film roles since, when winning an Academy Award normally has the opposite effect.

Daniels went on Don Lemon’s CNN Tonight and explained Mo’Nique “didn’t understand” that when an actor wins an Oscar, "You have to thank the producers of the film, you have to thank the studio.”

He went to say if that doesn’t happen, “People aren't going to respond well.” He also said she made some “demands” on the set of the movie that has tainted her image.

Mo’Nique went on the same show a couple days later, denying she made demands on set. She also cleared up what she meant about not being offered roles after her Oscar, saying the phone was ringing with offers but none of them made sense to her.

“f we continue to accept these low offers, how do we make a change?" she asked.

The actress went on to reveal she was paid $50,000 to do Precious.
