The mother of the man Aaron Hernandez is accused of killing took the stand Wednesday during the murder trial and was told by the judge not to cry.

The Boston Globe noted that after Odin Lloyd’s mother saw an autopsy photo of her son she got upset, but the judge presiding over the case told her not to cry.

“You are not to cry,” Judge E. Susan Garsh told Ursula Ward when the woman’s voice got shaky.

Garsh emphasized the importance of the situation and pointed out that Ward needed to keep her composure while identifying the person in the picture.

“Yes, your honor,” Ward replied.

Hernandez a former New England Patriots tight end is accused of killing Lloyd, who was a semi-professional football player. He was found shot to death in an industrial park near Hernandez’s home in 2013.

The Associated Press reported that the trial has been understandably difficult for Lloyd’s mother and she left the courtroom crying twice last week. She kept it together Wednesday and concluded her testimony without shedding a tear.
