Last Week: Reese and Root continue their search for Shaw as Fusco and their former POI, Detective Silva, stay in town to help Finch with their new number. Things got crazy and in the end, they still could not find Shaw. The machine tells Root to stop looking, but she parts ways with Finch anyway. We finally see that Shaw is alive and with Greer somewhere.
Harold Meets with Reese and they talk about Root, Shaw and the numbers they have failed to protect while Samaritan was going haywire. Finch tells Reese that he will try to assist him with the three missing persons he's looking for but his new identity as a professor has received jury duty. Finch tells him that they should leave Fusco out for now, in fear that he may get into trouble and Reese agrees. It's back to the two of them, just like in the beginning.
Finch meets Emma and they are called into the next jury group. While listening to everyone's statements about whether they should be selected as a jury member, Finch manages to talk his way out by speaking about the government using a computer to track everyone's day-to-day life, however, after a selected member's phone goes off, the judge dismisses him and places Finch back onto the jury.
John meets with his counselor, Iris, who tells him that this is their last session and she believes he is sane enough. He thanks her and leaves.
Fusco snoops around Reese's desk and finds his missing persons files. Reese tells Fusco that for now they don't need his help and leaves. A pay phone rings and he answers, receiving a set of words.
In court, they talk about a new program on cell phones that will help make them work better and was created by a woman named Caroline who was shot and killed by her husband Chad. The program would have made her company millions and the jury must decide whether or not to put Chad away.
Reese contacts Finch about their new number, Emma, the woman Finch met earlier who is also on the jury and sitting right next to him.
After further research, Finch finds out that Emma is going through depression but doesn't know yet why she would need their help. He concludes that it may be because of their case, who Reese finds out she is obsessed with the case.
Fusco contacts Reese about his missing persons and tells him that one of their last locations was by a place once owned by Elias. Reese tells him to stay out of it and they hang up. Reese also finds numerous passports belonging to Shaw on Finch's desk.
Reese meets with Iris and tells her that he would like to continue with his sessions and she reveals to him that she knows he's not a cop. They agree to meet at 9 am the next morning.
At the trial we meet Sr. Vice president of operations, Mr. Ward. He tells her that Caroline's program will put their company back on top, and that she explained that she and her husband were fighting about it. The opposing side brings up the fact that someone she worked with may be trying to kill her.
Reese tells Finch that they haven't found any evidence of Emma buying a weapon. Finch tracks Emma's texts from another phone and finds out that she is being forced into doing something but they don't know by who. Another juror, Fiona, has an allergic reaction and is shock. Finch finds out that someone is trying to fix the trial.
Zoe Morgan, a fixer who they've worked with in past cases shows up. They work together to study the jurors in the trial. Finch shows up, sees Morgan and talks to Reese about her involvement, later accepting her help. They believe the fixer may be Chad or someone very good at what they do. Morgan prepares Finch to reply to Emma's verdict decision.
Morgan asks Reese about his plans, hoping for something sexual, but Reese dismisses her and she knows he's interested in someone. She tells him that it won't last because he can't let anyone in.
Reese meets with Iris but they get off to a slow start. Instead they talk about her past life and work into finding out about Reese's past.
The trial continues with closing statements and they are dismissed for deliberations with Reese and Morgan listening. They find out that Emma is in fact pushing for a guilty verdict despite their predictions. They then realize that whoever actually killed Caroline is the one who wants Chad to go to jail for murder. Finch must stall the verdict and is becoming everyone's enemy in the room.
They find that Caroline's program can actually cause health problems and she tried to call off the deal, costing the company billions, so someone who worked with her must have killed her and framed her husband. The suspect it may be the new CEO Dean.
A new video surfaces of Chad and Caroline in an argument a couple of days before her murder, possibly released by the killer to push things along. All jurors are ordered by the judge to be sequestered until they have a verdict, so no technology until it's over. Emma gets a warning that Finch's blood will be on her hands unless she gets things done quickly.
Reese contacts Finch via Morse code. He sees Emma going to kill herself and tells Finch to go out and speak to her. Finch tells her that he knows someone is using her and manages to talk her out of it. Reese heads to their potential suspects location and Emma tells Finch about how she got into this mess. Someone sent her information about the trial and some instructions to follow, she tried to call the police and he threatened her by almost killing her neighbors young daughter, so she knew she had to do what she was told to in order to protect others.
Reese heads to the address Morgan gave him and finds out that the fixer is on the jury and in the hotel with Finch and Emma. Tim, the more aggressive member of the jury, breaks in to Finch's room. He attempts to kill Finch and make it look like a suicide but Reese reaches in time and gets into a brawl with Tim. Reese saves Tim from falling over the balcony railing in order to see him go through trial.
All charges against Chad were dropped and CEO Dean is being questioned by reporters about the dangers of the new product. Morgan steps aside to talk to Vice President Mr. Ward, Caroline's right hand man, and reveals that she knows he is the one behind everything. Fusco arrests him.
Fusco tells Reese that he doesn't want to be kept in the dark with their numbers anymore, and that he will risk his life for them no matter what. Emma thanks Finch and they leave.
Reese goes back to Iris and tells her about being afraid to let anyone in in order of avoiding loss. He agrees to needing new habits, including finding love.
Reese tells Finch that the missing three men were working with Elias and that he and Fusco will look into things.
Next Week: Their new number is an MMA fighter and Fusco goes in for some training. Also, an old number rises again and wants to work with Finch to take down Samaritan.
