Last Week: Without help from Root, Reese and Finch decide to keep things between them as they try to work through their numbers. Finch gets more hands on when his number is on his Jury, and Fusco demands to be kept in the loop despite whatever danger may come his way.

Their previous POI, Claire - a hacker, comes up again. Reese is hired as security for Fetch & Retrieve, and internet company. Finch introduces him to Calvin Mazer, the chief technical officer and Lauren, the CEO. Their new POI, Anna Muelle, who works there as a transcriber for VAL, an application for voice activated look up.

Reese sees that Anna got a text from someone named Alek reminding her about meeting at 9 pm.

Finch finds a flyer for a lost dog and recognizes something about it.

Reese follows Anna to the cafeteria where she meets Naresh, a coder. They have a brief conversation and he leaves. Finch finds that the flyer is identical to nautilus puzzle they've seen before, however they believe that it wasn't Samaritan who made the puzzle. Finch finds a hidden message saying "You were right" and leaves Reese to handle Anna on his own.

Anna leaves work and Reese follows her to an underground fighting ring where she is a participant and sees that Alek is her trainer.

Finch finds Claire and while talking, she is shot.

Finch tries to keep her safe while Reese tries to figure out what is up with Anna. He goes to her house and sees that her sister is receiving chemo.

Finch takes care of Claire's wound. She tells him that after solving the puzzle, a group took her in, telling her that they were recruiting people to help make the world a better place. She ended up hacking and stealing information from someone whom she was told is bad, but she got suspicious and hacked the group, finding out that they were killing innocent people and tells him about a man named Charles Wynn who was poisoned by them.

Reese finds that Anna has been avoiding her sister Jill. She goes to see Naresh but he is gone and so are his things. Lauren calls Anna into her office to talk about Paul Zimmerman, someone Anna has been trying to contact, but Lauren tells her to drop it. She goes back to her computer where she finds Reese who pretends to have been updating her software.

Finch tells Claire about Samaritan. She shows him a drive where she recovered with the label "Samaritan," not knowing before what it was. She offers up a proposition for them to work together and kill Samaritan.

Anna is almost kidnapped, but Reese shows up and saves her. At the precinct, Fusco and Reese question Anna. She tells them about Paul Zimmerman, a man who was contemplating suicide. When he asked VAL for the suicide hotline number, instead it sent him links which encourage him to kill himself. Anna explained that she sent emails to the head of her job, but nothing was done, and she asked Naresh to help. She got his number, but he had already killed himself. She's worried that Naresh is in danger and Reese leaves to check on him.

Finch contemplates plugging in the computer drive from Claire. He calls Fusco for death records for Charles Wynn and finds out that a man by that name died in a car crash. Finch goes back to Claire to talk about how her story differs from Wynn's actual death. He believes she gave him the drive as a scheme to help Samaritan gain access. She tells Finch the real story and he decides to stay and help her.

Anna's sister Jill's medical bracelet goes off and she gets an alert. Fusco takes her home.

Reese finds Naresh in his new position of VP of data access. Naresh tells Reese that he got a promotion after telling the heads of the company about Zimmerman and Reese figures that it's Hush money. Anna runs out of Fusco's car to see why the paramedics haven't arrived yet. However, it's a set up. Two men knock out Fusco and inject Jill with something.

Reese gets there and believes they are after Anna because she wouldn't let the Zimmerman thing go. Reese goes to find Anna and leaves Fusco to access servers at Fetch & Retrieve.

Anna manages to get free and Reese shows up to help.

Fusco goes to Naresh to get access to Fetch & Retrieve's servers.

Finch is set to plug in the drive but is interrupted when Fusco calls for help with the servers. He sends a copy to him and Finch sees that its a response algorithm. Just then a security guard shows up and finch manages to knock him out.

Reese and Anna talk and Jill and how Anna tried to do other things to take her mind off of her sister's illness.

Finch finds out that Zimmerman was one of hundreds who were targeted. He finds that Fetch & Retrieve were using them in order for them to buy from their advertisers and that the person responsible is Calvin himself, the chief technical officer. He holds Fusco, Naresh and Lauren at gunpoint.

Finch and Claire get ready to leave when she reveals to have ulterior motives with Samaritan. She tells him that she is going to take him to Samaritan.

Calvin explains to everyone that he is doing all of this for the money and is about to shoot when Reese and Anna show up and fight everyone off.

Claire takes Finch to a school, explaining that Samaritan is the one helping these kids have a better future and helping in other ways. She asks Finch to join Samaritan, but if he refuses then he'll be killed. So he agrees and a group of men take him somewhere, but as they're leaving, the men are all shot and Root shows up. Claire gets away after being shot by Root and she leaves with Finch.

Reese shows up at their hideout and finds out that Samaritan now has Finch's laptop. He sees Root and welcomes her back , but she tells him that she isn't staying. Finch tries to track his laptop but the signal ends up lost. At Samaritan, Greer finds out that the laptop is wiped clean. Claire asks Greer why the sniper shot her and he tells her that if she died, it would have been for a good cause. Greer leaves for a meeting with Mergers & Acquisitions.

At the meeting, we see that the creator is Lauren from Fetch & Retrieve.

Next Week: the team is in the middle of a drug war with their new POI.
