Singer Pink is the latest to join the long list of celebrities to go nude for animal rights group PETA. The “Sober” singer stars in the new “rather go naked than wear fur” poster.
The image, taken by Ruven Afanador, shows a smiling Pink crouching and showing off her tattoos.
“Animals are the purest spirits in the world,” she said in a statement. “They don't fake their feelings, and they are the most loyal creatures on Earth. I would like to say I've always been fur-free so I could be proud of myself. Unfortunately, I went through a selfish phase and wore fur on a couple of occasions. But I wised up and now boycott fur completely. I wish everyone was forced to learn the horrors that these animals go through for fashion trends. I hope fur wearers get bitten in the ass by the same kind of animal they wear on their back.”
PETA said today that they will put the poster up in Manhattan during New York Fashion Week, which starts on Thursday. The 90-foot billboard will be located on 42nd street, between 7th and 8th Avenues.
Pink co-starred in a video with Ricky Gervains in 2009, so she has a history with the group.
PETA has been doing the “rather go naked than wear fur” campaign for several years now. Other celebrities who have stripped down to protest animal fur being used for fashion include Waka Flocka Flame, Christian Serratos, Elisabetta Canalis, four Miss USA winners, Eva Mendes and Olivia Munn.
