Reddit has enforced a strict policy on any user that tries to leak nude photos of someone else without the subject’s consent.

This is a big step for the site, which allows users to police their own posts and sub-reddits. This hands-off style recently came under fire when leaked photos of many celebrities including Kate Upton, Jennifer Lawrence and Gabrielle Union were displayed in a sub-reddit called The Fappening.

"I really want to believe that as we enter the next 10 years of Reddit life, essentially the most trafficked media site on the Internet, the opportunity here to set a standard for respecting the privacy of our users," co-founder and executive chairman Alexis Ohanian told The New York Times.

When a nude photo or link to any explicit content appears on Reddit from now on, the site will immediately remove it.

The new policy will be effective starting March 10.
