Sam Smith appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres Show to discuss his Grammy wins and how he is feeling emotionally since his big night.
According to People, Smith was on the show Tuesday and spoke about his surprise when it came to his successful career. “It’s ridiculous. They’re so heavy, as well. It’s unreal. I genuinely didn’t think this was going to happen. It’s incredible. I keep spontaneously crying.”
Smith also revealed he hasn’t gotten much sleep since the Grammys and that he was partying all night before going to bed at 6:30 am the next day. The “Stay With Me” singer also revealed that in the business he is in, he has always tried to be true to the person he was.
As for that acceptance speech where he thanked an ex, well, he apparently rehearsed that part.
The interview also touched on Smith’s recent break up, which happened just weeks after the two had enjoyed an Australian vacation.
