Scott Foley may play the very romantic Captain Jake Ballard on the hit show Scandal, but the star reveals that he has quite the laid-back marriage at home.

Foley opened up in an interview with E! News at the NAACP Image Awards last week and discussed his surprisingly very low-key Valentine’s Day plans he has with his wife, Marika Dominczyk. "We're pretty simple. We've got three kids. If we can find a sitter and get the night off and go to a dinner, that's what we'll do,” Foley said.

The 42-year-old Scandal star also described the plans as a simple and quick evening. "We'll probably talk about our kids, which is what everybody does, come home and go to sleep early so we can wake up early with the kids. That's what happens in my house," he said. Foley and Dominczyk got married in 2007 have three children together, Malina, 5, Keller, 2, and their newest addition, 3-month-old son Konrad.

Besides planning a low-key night, Foley also explained to E! News that when it comes to exchanging gifts, simplicity is the key. "I'm a flower guy. I think flowers are important. Every now and then, it's jewelry on Valentine's Day but you can't go overboard. You don't want to put something out there and then have an expectation every year," he explained.

Also during the NAACP Image Awards, Foley opened up about fatherhood in an interview with People Magazine. “Fatherhood is insane.” He continued, “I’m lucky enough to have three healthy children. And I’m lucky enough to be woken up every day between 3 a.m. and 5 a.m.”
