TLC’s Sister Wives centers on a polygamist family headed by Kody Brown, who has four wives; Meri, Janelle, Christine and Robyn.
Brown legally married Meri first and has had spiritual ceremonies intertwining the rest of his wives into the family. However, it was revealed earlier this month Brown divorced Meri, 44, and married his youngest wife, Robyn, 36, last fall.
At the time they said in a statement that they wanted to “legally restructure our family," and “made this decision together as a family.”
On Sunday, TLC will air a two-hour tell all, hosted by Today’s Tamron Hall, about this decision and the fifth season of their show. The network insisted "no subject is off limits.”
"In the season finale, additional details emerge that add clarity to Meri’s decision to divorce Kody and the family’s decision to take the additional step of Robyn marrying Kody,” the family told Us Weekly.
In a sneak peak obtained by TheWrap, Meri cries and tells the camera, “I am divorcing Kody." He also says, “The word ‘divorce’ is like shattering glass.”
TMZ reports the reason for divorcing Meri and marrying Robyn was to give Robyn’s three kids from a previous marriage more legal rights to the family.
The season finale and tell-all will air Sunday, March 1.
