Not many Americans tend to venture to view television shows or movies made in other, non-English speaking countries, probably because not many know a foreign language well enough and it is kind of annoying to have to rely on subtitles.
But because of that limitation, there are great works that Americans miss out on. Some of the best films come from foreign directors — they offer a more diverse selection of style, often taking a more artsy approach (in some ways). And not only do you miss the work you don't see, you also miss out on the people.
One of the best parts of the entertainment world is getting to see all the beautiful people we long to be, be with or simply meet. And while the U.S. definitely has bred some beautiful stars, there are many, many equally attractive stars elsewhere.
Take France, for example. While as is the case in most places, not all French women are physically attractive, but the ones that are, are quite so. There is an abundance of beautiful French actresses, each with their own special qualities, and only a small portion appear in American movies. It's time they get their due.
