Last week’s episode of Blue Bloods featured an appearance by Glee actor Max Adler in the role of a civilian officer named Andy, who is enthusiastic about wanting to help Jamie and Eddie catch bad guys. However, he isn’t supposed to be chasing suspects, which leads to conflict when he gets in the middle of going after a drug dealer, leading to a shooting that leaves Eddie reeling.
Meanwhile, Frank has a meeting with Mayor Poole, who asks him to look into the arrest of a man named Ray McClain. The man is a personal friend of the Deputy Mayor Herrera and the mayor is worried her association with him could cost her the job and he would lose his close friend. Frank agrees to look into it, but then faces his own conflict when Gormley and Garrett remind Frank about the raising the pensions for police officers. They want him to talk to the mayor, even though Frank worries about asking for favors back.
Erin’s case involves Mr. Dano, who is accused of the murder of a man and his twin little girls. A witness named Thomas Conti claimed to see the murders, but he lied. In order to put him away, Erin and Alex look for a man named Vincent Rella, who is a reliable witness, but is in witness protection due to testifying against the mob.
This episode tugged at the heart strings, especially the moments between Eddie and Jamie when he tried to help her through her feelings about having to shoot the suspect. What did you like from this episode, “Power Players?”
