NCIS: New Orleans focused on a case that puts Agent Brody directly in front of internal affairs, who wants to investigate why she was unable to protect an Admiral after a fellow agent named Austin Hackett was shot and killed. The case gives us some more information about Brody, who up until now has been very guarded and private about her personal life.

Meanwhile, the rest of the team, and Brody when she gets the chance in the middle of questioning, investigates why Hackett was shot. At first, it appears that the Admiral they were charged with protecting was the target and it could have been due to union issues, until evidence supports that Hackett was the one who was targeted.

There are many twists and turns to this case, especially when the team discovers that a childhood friend of Hackett’s is missing, as well as her husband and ill son. There is also a question of exactly who the father of the child is, with the team believing at first that it was Hackett. When his friend Reagan turns up dead, they must work to find out exactly what is going on in order to catch their killer.

This was a good episode of NCIS: New Orleans, especially since we found out some more about Brody. It’s always interesting to get a chance to learn more about our team. What did you like the most from “Careful What You Wish For?”

2. The killer

The team determines who their killer possibly is after finding the last person who spoke to Reagan by phone. Brody goes to see the Senator Klain, who was also a friend of Reagan’s in high school, and after mentioning that she needs to find his chief of staff, she subtly takes his glass he was drinking from when he goes to leave. He turns out to be the father of Reagan’s son and they had been keeping it quiet, until he got sick and needed help. Austin was also the only one who knew about the paternity and Senator Klain used the union issues to cover up the murder.
