Parks and Recreation will be finishing its seventh and final season this month, which is literally the worst. Pawnee, Indiana was the greatest fictional former “Paris of America.” It was also the “Akron of Southwest Indiana” and the “Birthplace of Julia Roberts” (until it became the “Home of the World Famous Julia Roberts Lawsuit”).

We will miss Pawnee, not just because of the people in the Parks and Recreation department, but because of the incredible personalities who live in one of America’s fattest cities. Leslie Knope (Amy Poehler) loved them all, even if they made her life hell. Ron Swanson (Nick Offerman) hated them, but then again, he hated anyone who didn’t eat breakfast food for every meal.

These unsung heroes of Pawnee made Parks and Recreation, created by Greg Daniels and Michael Shur, one of the funniest shows on television. Somehow, despite low ratings for most of its run, the show has survived (more likely because NBC can’t think of anything better to put on). But before we start looking at Pawnee’s Hall of Fame, we must remember the town’s beloved fallen hero.

We will always miss Li’l Sebastian, that cute little horse that everyone loved. Sure, Ben Wyatt (Adam Scott) couldn't figure out why, but that’s his loss.

10 . Crazy Ira and the Douche

It doesn’t take much to get Pawnee to laugh, so in that sense, Crazy Ira (Matt Besser) and The Douche (Nick Kroll) are kind of geniuses. Their toilet humor is perfect for Pawnee, even if - again - poor Ben doesn’t get it.

9. Bill Dexhart

Yes, Pawnee has its own Bill Clinton in Councilman Bill Dexhart (Kevin Symons), except he’s much, much worse. And he keeps getting re-elected, even after he tried to get a threesome together with Leslie and Ann (Rashida Jones).

8. Perd Hapley

Perd Hapley (Jay Jackson) is quite possibly the funniest fictional newsman on television. He somehow just gets Pawnee’s simplicity. Of course in 2017, he would become a TV judge (who doesn’t know what a gavel is).

7. Bobby Newport

Bobby Newport (Paul Rudd) was Leslie’s opponent when she ran for City Council. He was totally annoying and tried to win people over with candy. Hey, it could have worked!

6. Orin

Orin (Eric Isenhower) will stare right into your soul. Watch out, he’s a genius.

5. Dave Sanderson

Officer Dave Sanderson (Louis CK) was Leslie’s first love on the show (six years after sleeping with Mark Brendanawicz [Paul Schneider]). He was a loveable cop, but probably wouldn’t be too good in a high-pressure situation.

4. Jean-Ralphio Saperstein

Who could possibly be more annoying than Tom Haverford (Aziz Ansari)? Why, Jean-Ralphio Saperstein (Ben Schwartz)! Add in his sister, Mona-Lisa Saperstein (Jenny Slate) and trouble is around the corner. Especially if their father (Henry Winkler) is near.

3. Joan Callamezzo

Joan Callamezzo (Mo Collins) runs Pawnee. Well, not literally, but since she’s the host of Pawnee Today, everyone listens to her. Get her on your side (which is pretty easy, as Tom knows), and you can get the whole town to support you.

2. Jeremy Jamm

Councilman Jeremy Jamm (Jon Glaser) is the most annoying, disgusting person in Pawnee. He’s terrible, as Leslie figured out once she was elected to the City Council. He made it impossible for anything to get done.

Tammy II

Ron Swanson has been through so much, mostly because of Tammy II (Offerman’s real-life wife Megan Mullally). She’s a terrible, terrible person. To make matters even worse, she worls for the library! NO!
