Singer Trey Songz took to Twitter Sunday to express his feelings about not receiving any Grammy nominations.
The 30-year-old, who had three No. 1 singles off his album Trigga, including: “NaNa,” “Touchin Lovin” and “What's Best For You” feels that he isn’t getting the credit he deserves, The SingersRoom reports.
“10 years I been able to feed my family and have the support of so many people, just for doing what I would do anyway for NOTHING… Music,” Songz wrote on Twitter.
The singer continued by letting fans know that he wasn’t ranting, he simply felt that his album, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and sold 105,000 copies in the first week, deserved a nomination, The SingersRoom notes.
“I don't rant, this isn't that. TRIGGA #1 album "NaNa" "Touchin Lovin" and "What's Best For You" all #1 on one chart or another,” Songz continued.
“So please, don’t take this next sentiment as salt, shade, envy, etc. The Grammys shortchange culture for popularity every year,” another tweet read.
Songz finshed by thanking his fans for sticking by him for the 10 years that he has been in the business. “My fans give me the real reward no trophy ever could, LOVE. So everytime they give me nothing, I think of you. Thank you, I love you,” Songz said.
