Uma Thurman went back to looking like her familiar self during an appearance on the Today Show Thursday morning and was asked about her different look at a red carpet event for NBC’s The Slap. Some thought she may have had plastic surgery but the red carpet veteran said it was just different makeup.
During the event in New York on Monday, Thurman looked very different, so social media blew up with speculation. It played out like a rerun of Renee Zellweger.
“I guess nobody liked my makeup,” Thurman told Savannah Guthrie. “I mean, I've been doing this for years and years and years, and people say things nice and they say things mean.”
She later added, “It's just like, whatever.”
Thurman is currently starring in The Slap, a limited series that NBC is airing on Thursdays. Co-starring Zachary Quinto, the series centers on the fall-out of a child getting slapped at a barbecue.
"You see a person lose their temper,” the Kill Bill actress explained on Today. “It happens all the time in this country, but it doesn't often happen necessarily outside of a nuclear family. I think what makes this piece so compelling is it brings up a serious conversation.”
