Authorities have said that former rapper Vanilla Ice was arrested in connection with a burglary at a residence in Lantana, Florida.
TMZ reported that Vanilla Ice, whose real name is Robert Van Winkle, was filming his T.V. show The Vanilla Ice Project at the time of the alleged incident. He is accused of going into an abandoned house next door and allegedly stealing a number of items including some furniture, a pool heater and bicycles, among other things.
NBC Miami noted that Latana police said Wednesday that the alleged burglary was said to have occurred sometime between December 2014 and February 2015.
Van Winkle is best known for his 1990 mega-hit "Ice Ice Baby.” At the time, the song was the first hip-hop single to top the Billboard charts. However, he was never able to again musically achieve that commercial success.
Nowadays, the 47-year-old is hosting his home renovation show on DIY Network, which is a gig he has had since 2009.
