Vanilla Ice, real name Robert Van Winkle, is breaking his silence on his arrest for residential burglary and grand theft in Lantana, Fla., after paying his bond and being released from custody overnight.

The host of DIY network’s The Vanilla Ice Project told ABC News the theft charges are a misunderstanding. He’s been accused of stealing items such as furniture, a pool heater and bicycles, among other things, from a house across the street from one he’s working on for his show that’s in foreclosure.

He said it "it will all be cleared up” in due time. A reporter even asked him if this whole scandal is part of the storyline for his reality show, which prompted him to laugh and reply, “I wish.”

The burglary occurred sometime between December 2014 and February 2015.

He’s been into flipping houses for years now and has had the DIY gig since 2009.
